São Paulo has been eating me alive.

It's been a while since I spent any meaningful time on a megalopolis. Since I got here, electricity has been down a few times, rain has been plentiful, and I've seen the sun less than I'd like.

Yet, training in one of the best BJJ gyms in the world, eating great cuisine and spending time in cute cafes, has so far been making up for the downsides. I kid, it hasn't. I've booked tickets to fly out already.

I can't see myself living in a big city anymore. At least not as busy, and not as chaotic as here. And for someone whose biggest dream was once to move to this very city, that somehow feels very significant.

I once dreamed a successful life was one consumed by work while in a megalopolis, where I could be my full consumer self. More and more, I realize I'm actually a country boy.

I've been finding myself prioritizing more silence, peace, a routine that happens slower, and the privilege of having a proper kitchen to cook healthy meals, something that is hard to find in this 25sqm apartment.

I return to Europe in a couple months, and I'm yet unsure of which city I'm returning to.

Wherever it ends up being, I hope it allows for more space for the soul than it fits in this small apartment.
